Local Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

The objectives of this MOU are:
(i)   To develop cooperation in the human capital development and related activities between the two parties;
(ii)  To establish a mutually beneficial relationship built on academic cooperation.  Areas of cooperation between UCTS and UMS including (but not limited to) the academic programmes, students & staff exchange, and research & publication.

To realize these objectives, the two institutions agreed to undertake the following activities especially in the food technology:
(a)  Develop a student & staff exchange strategy for UCTS and UMS;
(b)  Joint participation in course development and delivery;
(c)  Practical training places for students and academic staff for the purposes of value-added study, exposures and experience;
(d)  Exchange of technical know-how and advisory; and
(e)  Joint research, innovation and teaching activities.

  • UM Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Centre (UMPEDEC), Universiti Malaya

(i)   Exchange of students and/or academic and administrative staff;
(ii)   Joint research activities, especially in the area of electrical energy;
(iii)  Exchange of publications, reports and other academic materials and information; and
(iv)  Sharing of other activities and programs in areas of mutual interest, whereas such sharing shall result in benefits to both parties.

  • International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (ICATS) Kuching

icatThe main objectives of this MoU are
(i) To develop cooperation in the human capital development and related activities between the two parties;
(ii) To establish mutually beneficial relationship built on academic cooperation.  Areas of cooperation between the UCTS and the ICATS including (but not limited to) the academic programmes, students articulation and research & publication.

To realize these objectives, both parties have agreed:
(a)  To develop an articulation strategy for ICATS diploma graduates to pursue degree programmes at UCTS;
(b)  ICATS is to conduct UCTS degree programmes ;
(c)  Joint participation in course development and delivery;
(d)  Practical training places for students and academic staff for the purposes of value-added study, exposures and experience;
(e)  Exchange of technical know-how and advisory; and
(f)  Joint research, innovation and teaching activities.

  • Huawei Technologies Sdn Bhd

The objectives of this MOU are
(i) To enhance scientific, technical and engineering competencies.
(ii) To provide technical training and education for the telecommunication domain for a mutually beneficial and synergetic relationship.

To realize these objectives, Huawei will
(a) Provide highly-subsidized Huawei University Teaching Laboratory package to UCTS;
(b) Provide complete courseware to UCTS;
(c) Collaborate with Multimedia Development Corporation to provide train-the-trainer to UCTS lecturers;
(d) Provide internship placements to UCTS students; and
(e) Facilitate the placements of UCTS graduates to be employed by Huawei eco-partners.

  •  X-FAB Sarawak Sdn Bhd

FAB

The main objectives of this MOU are
(i) To develop cooperation in the field of electronic and related industries between the two organisations;
(ii) To collaborate in the human capital development related to the electronic industry; and
(iii) To collaborate in research and development, and innovation activities.

To realize these objectives
(a) both organisations agreed to jointly develop and conduct professional training programs;
(b) Exchange of technical know-how and advisory;
(c) Joint research, innovation and teaching activities;
(d) Joint participation in course development and delivery; and
(e) Provide Industrial training places for UCTS students, and staff training from both sides for the purposes of value-added study, exposures and experience.

  X-FAB Sarawak has a representative in the Board of Studies for Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Electrical & Electronic programme at UCTS.

  • Electrical Association of Sarawak and Sabah (EASS)

The main objectives of this MoU are
(i) To develop cooperation in the field of electrical and related industries between the two parties;
(ii) To collaborate in the human capital development related to the electrical industry; and
(iii) To collaborate in research and development; and innovation activities.

To realize these objectives
(a) Both parties have agreed to develop and conduct professional training programs;
(b) Exchange of technical know-how and advisory;
(c) Embark on joint research, innovation and teaching activities;
(d) Joint participation in course development and delivery; and
(e) Provide industrial training places for UCTS students.

  •  Sibu Shipyard Association (SSA)

ssaThe main objectives of this MoU are
(i) To develop cooperation in the field of Marine Engineering and Shipbuilding and related industries;
(ii) To collaborate in the human capital development related to Marine and Shipbuilding industry; and
(iii) To collaborate in research and development, and innovation activities.
 
To realize these objectives
(a) Both UCTS and SSA have agreed to develop and conduct professional training programs in marine engineering;
(b) Exchange of technical know-how and advisory; Joint research; and
(c) Provide industrial training places for UCTS students.
