UCTS Library

The University Library is a 3-storey building located next to the Student Centre.  It has a total sitting capacity for 500 students at any one time.  Apart from the physical books, the Library is also equipped with 100 computers for use by students to view online materials and e-books.  The computers in the Library may also be used by students for working on their assignments.  It also has five discussion rooms (located on the 1st Floor) for group discussions / meetings.

    Monday to Friday:  8.00am – 8.00pm
    Saturday:  8.00am – 12.00pm
    Sunday & Public Holiday:  Closed
  • During Semester Break
    Monday to Friday:  8.00am – 5.00pm
    Saturday:  8.00am – 12.00pm
    Sunday & Public Holiday:  Closed

Library Services

  • Circulation Services
    The process of circulation of the library materials borrowed / referred / taken by the members from the library for a stipulated time.  This process is supported by various services such as borrowing, returning, renewals and reservation.
  • Reference & Information Services
    Guide users in using library services and facilities
  • Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC)
    It is widely used as a search tool.  Information about all the items in the library collection is available via OPAC.  Therefore users can use OPAC to search for available titles.  Search strategies are available via Author search, Title search, Call Number search, ISBN search, etc.  It provides users with important access points such as call numbers, item status and locations.

  • Printing and photocopyingSelf-service printing and photocopying services are located at the ground floor.  These services are provided by a private company.  Printing and photocopying is charged per page as below:

  • Information Literacy
    Library provides Information Literacy Program which is divided into three (3) modules as below:
    Module I:  Introduction to library services and facilities
    Module II:  Searching for information
    Module III:  Library systems and library online services
