Industrial Advisory Panel (IAP) meeting and student forum

Date: 4th – 5th March, 2019

In line with UCTS’ policy on continuous improvement on teaching and learning of all programmes, Quantity Surveying Department held an Industrial Advisory Panel (IAP) meeting.

At the student forum, three industrial representatives, namely Sr Loo Ming Chee, Sr Nik Hasbi Fathi Bin Nik Husain and Sr Laura Yiin Soon Kiong, shared their knowledge and experiences by responding to questions related to emerging technology and Quantity Surveying profession. About 120 UCTS and 17 Kolej Laila Taib students attended the forum.

Objectives:

  • The annual IAP meeting is to ensure that the knowledge, skills and competencies acquired by our students of quantity surveying programme able to match with the needs of the current construction industry.
  • The IAP is also an avenue to receive inputs from the panel members on where and how improvement could be made on the existing Quantity Surveying programme structure as well as teaching and learning.
