Project Start Date:  12/1/2015

Duration of Project:  19 months

Research Summary:  Telecommunication network infrastructure in Malaysia is expanding into new evolving network like 4G/LTE technology with the capability of super speed services to the customer.  The year 2014 marked the 6-year timeline to reach Malaysia Vision 2020.  Thus this research seek to explore the future Extra-terrestrial Connectivity Infrastructure (ECI)’s concept, analysis & forecast of the likeliness of the emergence of new and existing telecom network infrastructure in 2020 for Malaysia.  The emerging network will consider the impact from 5G technology and the trend into Outernet.  The database obtained will be used to explore new traffic-technology-service trend for the Malaysian telecommunication’s future infrastructure.  The result will then forecast/predict possible network scenarios for year 2020 and beyond.   Forward strategies to reach this target will be recommended.
